Looking for a gift?
Pottery makes a lovely gift, particularly when you want something useful that has been made locally.
Birthdays and thank-you gifts
A mug is the most popular choice. People use it every day, which is what makes it a good gift. Tumblers, candles and spoon rests also work well if you want something smaller.

Weddings and new homes
A pair of dinner plates, bowls or mugs. You can place a custom order through the custom order page and choose the glaze. Allow six to eight weeks.
Custom ordersChristmas
Mugs and candles are the most popular Christmas gifts. Garlic graters and spoon rests make good stocking fillers. If you are ordering a custom piece for Christmas, order by mid-October.

Someone leaving Guernsey
A handmade mug, bowl or vase is a lovely reminder of the island, without feeling like a souvenir. Each piece is made here in Guernsey, with glazes inspired by the colours of the coast.
Visitors to Guernsey
The pottery stall on Houmet Lane is open during daylight hours, so you can stop by, have a look and choose a piece in person. Payment can be made by card or cash.
Not sure what to choose?
Mugs make an easy gift and tend to suit almost everyone. Garlic graters and spoon rests are good smaller options, while bowls, plates and jugs make a more substantial present.

Made in L'Islet
Lucy makes each piece at her studio in L'Islet, Vale.
The pottery is shaped, left to dry, fired in the kiln, glazed and then fired again. Many of the glaze colours are influenced by the sea, coast and landscape around Guernsey.
Because everything is handmade, there will always be small differences in shape, size and glaze. Those variations are part of the finished piece.
Custom orders
Some items can be ordered in a chosen glaze, including matching pairs. Custom orders usually take around six to eight weeks.
